Mikrobiomik moves to new premises at the BIC Bizkaia business incubator.
Just a year after its founding, and with the approval of the Governing Board of the Bizkaia Science and Technology Park, Mikrobiomik, has moved its corporate headquarters and residence for tax purposes to the park’s BIC Bizkaia building, a business incubator specialising in bio-, micro- and nano-technologies, advanced manufacturing and clean technologies promoted by the Basque Government and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and managed by Beaz.
“At the BIC Bizkaia there is an atmosphere of cooperation between businesses and thinking outside the box, in the setting of a unique, striking entrepreneurial ecosystem” – declares Juan Basterra, CEO of Mikrobiomik – “and the next step is to bring our facilities at the BIC Bizkaia into line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) regulations and request certification from the AEMPS (Spanish Medicines & Health Products Agency) so that we can work towards our goal of producing and marketing the first faecal microbiota capsules as a biological medicine“.
Mikrobiomik is a bio-pharmaceutical start-up which was founded with the goal of becoming the first company in the world to register faecal microbiota as a biological medicine in the EU, for use in cases of recurrent Clostridium difficile.
