For statistical purposes, a patient is part of the “n” of the clinical trial, which will give us the final results of efficacy and safety we are looking for, but thanks to this inspiring story, today we know that it is much more than that.
That “n” is a patient infected with Clostridioides Difficile, but in truth it is a life story, and not only his own but also that of a whole family that accompanies him in suffering from the infection, and which, like most cases, are multi-pathological patients who have undergone years of extensive treatment and antibiotics. We are touched and motivated to go on knowing testimonies like this one, of patients who, thanks to having had the courage to participate in the clinical trial, have improved their quality of life.
We would also like to highlight the medical professionals, such as Dr. Elena Bereciartua, infectious diseases unit doctor at Cruces Hospital (Bizkaia), who show an infinite commitment to their patients, searching for therapeutic alternatives such as the biological medicine under investigation MBK-01, in order to improve the health of the people who come to their practices with their complex clinical histories.
