An innovation, both in form and substance, is making headway in northern Spain.

The pharmaceutical company Mikrobiomik is on the point of solving a medical problem that until now did not have a good prospect: severe diarrhoea (Clostridium Difficile).

But, ironically, the formula to achieve this is to use healthy stool from human donors. The company is finalising clinical trials (it has just closed Phase III), while preparing its facilities for large-scale manufacturing of the first biological medicine based on the human microbiome because it expects to be on the market in a year… (cont.)
